Grandmaster Yim, Hon Suk began his martial arts training in South Korea at the
age of 17. He began with lessons in Teoul Moon KungFu under then, Grandmaster,
Chun, Song Shin. He also studied Hung Gar under Grandmaster Chung Guk Chi of
Taiwan.
Grandmaster Yim has always strived for the highest level of personal
performance. His diligent and rigorous training paid off by dominating major
International competitions from 1976 to 1984, where he gained a reputation as a
fierce and dedicated competitor, as well as, a highly qualified judge and
referee. During his many years of training Grandmaster Yim has amassed a great
deal of knowledge, mastering over 200 empty hand and weapons forms, from
acrobatic Wu Shu sets to soft and powerful Chen Tai Chi.
He has also become a renowned coach and trainer. His ability as a world class
coach was recognized by his being named as the Head Coach of the South Korean
National Wu Shu Team, which he has lead to several championships. He has
produced many National and International Champions including the current Wu Shu
World Champion, Park, Chon Dae. His teams have become well-respected and
admired fixtures of National and International competitions.
Grandmaster Yim’s exceptional talent was rewarded in 1988, when at the age of
36, he was awarded the title of Grandmaster of the Teoul Moon KungFu System.
This was a great honor for someone of such a relatively young age, and a
measure of his outstanding abilities. Since assuming leadership of the World
Teoul Moon KungFu Association he has continued his pursuit of excellence and
continues to advance his abilities. Grandmaster Yim has become a world-renowned
tournament judge, demonstrator, and lecturer. He has been invited as an honored
guest to competitions and demonstrations in many countries and continues to
receive the admiration of many world martial arts talents. He has been awarded
many honors, including being named to the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
The highest level of achievement for a martial artist is the ability to heal
rather than harm. Through diligent practice of Tai Chi and Chi Kung exercises,
Grandmaster Yim has progressed to exceptional levels of internal strength and
energy. This energy can be immediately felt when in his presence and he can
project it to others for both self-defense and healing. Grandmaster Yim has
also become very adept at Traditional Chinese Medical techniques, including
acupressure and herbology. He has demonstrated his abilities to western medical
doctors who have stood in awe, without explanation. His martial abilities and
knowledge have garnered him praise and respect from many leaders in the world
martial arts community, but he takes great pride in his healing abilities. He
has become a highly respected practitioner of the healing arts, his talents are
highly prized and sought after by many, including many South Korean movie,
television, and music celebrities.
